After the snowstorm (Blizzard 2010) I managed to get outside and get some minor shots. My camera was really acting up, unfortunately. Lost 35-50% of my shots. At first I thought it was because of the cold, but I have had it out there in much, much worse conditions (5 degree weather) and never had an issue. So my next thought might be an inadequate battery or than a less than stellar memory card.
Fortunately, I have all winter to try and figure it out.
Winter is such a hard time period for me. The ups and downs are challenging. For instance, the last two days the temps have been 50+ degrees. Because the landscape is usually pretty black and white (and eventually filthy) in the dead of winter, finding things, finding inspiration, is always tough for me. Now it has been compounded by the fact that the one thing that showed potential to photograph, the Merrimack rivers ice flows, have all melted away. I know the cold temperatures will be back, and the river will slow down with its ice cover, but I don't want to wish for it! I would much rather just skip the cold temperatures and find that first flower blooming!
